Oakridge Willowlake Vineyard Local Series 2012 Pinot Noir

[one-half-first]This is from north facing red volcanic vineyard in Gladysdale Рwhereas the Guerin Pinot is from east facing grey volcanic soils in Gladysdale. The similarities to the Guerin are quite striking Рhere we see a little more lifted fruit and perfume Рhints of cranberry  Рmaybe a little less minerality and a little more funk.  It is a tough call as to which is better. They are both remarkable wines and very similar. Very different to the Swallowfield Pinot. Lovely fine grain tannins keep everything in balance. 94/100[/one-half-first][one-half]Local Willowlake YV Pinot Noir 2012_front[/one-half]
